A Shoot With My Niece "H"

So, about a month ago, I bought some fun parasols, and I couldn't wait to try working them into some of my images. My niece, "H", is amazing! She LOVES to model for me, and she has tons of great ideas when I am working with her.
There is one photo of "H" with my son Sean behind the parasol. It was the funniest thing, when I asked Sean to give "H" a kiss on the cheek, they both looked at me like I was crazy!! I guess that's what I get for asking two 6 year old to give each other a kiss! So for all of you out there wondering; Sean only kissed her on the cheek!! I had to bribe Sean with a piece of candy by the way! It was so funny. I really need to work with these parasols more often. It was really fun, and I love
"H's" big brown eyes! She also has such an innocent look in many of the photos.

"Mr. Serious" and His New Little Brother!

I got the opportunity to photograph little 11 day old "G" a few weeks ago. I photographed his big brother, "G" about 6 months ago, and we kept calling him "Mr. Serious" during the shoot because he would NOT smile for me! Well, this time was way different! Big brother "G" was so interested in me, and wanted to help me out with all of my props and gadgets. He was all smiles, and wanted to be involved in all we were doing.
I was super excited to work with little newborn "G". He was an amazing little boy! Very easy to work with, and so sweet. Of course, like all newborn shoots I do, he was awake the entire time. I got to use a lot of my new props and a few new hats during the shoot. I love the picture of little "G" with his proud dadda. This family is really beautiful, and I really hope to work with them in the future, and watch these two handsome boys grow!!! :)

Baby K Designs

I know it has been forever since I have blogged! I have been extremely busy, and have really just been putting it on the back burner. I have a lot of great pictures that I have taken, and it's time to play catch up!
So I recently found Veronica of Baby K Designs on Etsy.com She has great stuff for newborns, toddlers, and kids. I have been taking pictures of my beautiful nieces so I could send Veronica some images for her site. Her prices are great, and her items are of great quality. These are some pictures that are my favorites from the shoot with my nieces. The hats, tutu, and flower headband are all products of Baby K Designs. Besides Etsy.com, you can also find Baby K Designs on facebook!

A Full Head of Hair on this Little Guy!

So I took these photos over a month ago of little "M." I work with his dad, and he and his wife were so excited that I was going to be taking pictures of their son! He is a very quiet one, and I basically just followed him around and let him be. I got some really great shots of this little guy, and when his mom called me after she saw the photos, she said "words cannot describe how much these mean to us!" That is the best compliment anyone can ever give me. To know that I was able to capture their son at this point in his life is absolutely awesome!! Makes me keep going with my dream of being a great photographer with lots of satisfied clients!! :)

Some of my Favorite Images of my Son!

So I was recently going through old pictures that I had taken a while back of my son Sean. I wanted to post a few of my absolute favorites. I mainly went through the pictures because I decided to enter a photo contest that my clickinmom.com site was having. It was black and white photography, and there were so many amazing entries. The jury is still out on who the winner is, but I had to enter the photo of my son and his cousin walking hand in hand in the park. This picture was originally taken for a mother's day gift for my mother-in-law. I entered this photo in 2005 in an Amateur photo contest for the city of Roseville, and I won first place in my category. What do you think!!

Another session with little "H"

So I went back to take photos of little "H" with her mom and dad. She is now almost 3 weeks old, and we were able to get a lot of great shots when she was awake. She is absolutely goregous, and is such a good baby. She really will let us do almost anything to her to get the great shots. I have been really lucky to have such a good friend in her mom to allow me to photograph this little angel!! I am posting a few of my favorites from the session.
I also finally received my newborn cocoon, and we were barely able to squeeze her into it!! I love all of these pics! Especially the ones with daddy and Datsun their Jack Russell. Hope you enjoy! :)

Little 6 Day Old Princess!

My friend "C" had her baby earlier this week, and I had the pleasure of getting to meet her new daughter this weekend and do a photo shoot with her. Now, I have to say that I was really nervous because I have worked with newborns in the past, and they never fall asleep during the session! I don't know about you, but there is something about a sleeping newborn. So quiet and serene. It was my time to finally have a sleeping little one. And boy did she sleep! She was out the entire time! I was so excited I could hardly contain myself. I am so excited for her mom and dad to see these photos. These are just a few of my absolute favorites. I am planning on working with the entire family in the very near future, and I will be sure and update once I get them! :)

I Love Doing Maternity Sessions!

I had the pleasure of photographing my friend "C" that is due at the beginning of August. She is goregous, and allowed me to work with her for 3 hours! It is so awesome to have someone that allows me to do whatever, as I am able to try out many different ideas! I think that maternity and newborn sessions are my absolute favorite! I try really hard to capture the emotion and anticipation in all my maternity shots. I was really excited with almost all of the photos that we got from our session. Here I posted a few of my absolute favorites!
I think one of my favorites is the one of her tattoo. She has a really cool tattoo that wraps all the way around her back. I turned the photo black and white and decided to just leave the tattoo in color so you are able to see how really neat it is! I didn't even know that she had it until the day of our shoot.
I was so excited for her to see the final pics. I was really pleased when she saw them and said that she liked all of them! She was very reluctant to even have maternity pics done, so to know that she liked all of them is a great compliment! Her boyfriend even wanted her to print out some wallet sizes :)

Father's Day Gift For Pop!

So my husband Ryan had a great idea of trying to copy a photo that was taken by his mom years ago of him and his father. We wanted to try and recreate the same pose as the old photo, but found that it was much harder than we thought! We tried a session back in September of 2008 because we wanted to try and do it for his dad for a Christmas Gift. We both felt that we really didn't get the pose right, so we kind of just forgot and put the idea on the back burner. I mentioned to Ryan last weekend that we should try again and give it to his dad for Father's Day this year. So, we decided to try again tonight. After about 200 photos we still could not get the exact pose of the younger Ryan and his Dad. I was getting really frustrated, and so was our son Sean, so we called it quits.
I have to say that I know that the photo that I captured of Ryan and Sean doesn't match the pose exactly from 32 years ago, but I LOVE the look on my son's face! I love that you can see his dimples, and I thought that it really caught who they are as father and son now as opposed to Ryan and his Dad in the past! I know that Pop will enjoy the photo! Hope everyone out there has an awesome Father's Day this weekend! :)

What a Great Family!

So I had another shoot on Sunday evening! This time it was for another one of my friends at work. She is pregnant, and is due at the beginning of August, and her boyfriends family wanted to all get together to have a nice family photo taken. We decided to meet in Folsom at Negro Bar, and the weather was absolutely perfect! This family is so much fun! We all worked up a sweat hiking down a pretty steep hill to get to the best place for lighting and scenery. I was really happy with what we were able to capture, and I posted a few of my favorites here. I am meeting with my friend this weekend to do some maternity shots.
I will be sure to post a couple of our shoot if she says it's ok! :)

My Session With "N" and her Brothers

So, I know that I haven't written here for a while! I have been really busy with work and basic family and household duties. But, I have still been clicking away. I went this past Sunday and took pictures of my friend from work and her two brothers. They wanted to get some pictures of the three of them together for Father's Day! They are total Giants Fans, so we had fun taking some photos of them in their Giants Gear for Dad. I really love the picture of the three of them lined up against the fence in their sunglasses and serious looks! We even put them in birth order from youngest to oldest! I really hope that their dad enjoys their gift this year! I had a lot of fun, and was really happy how the pictures turned out. :)

Amazing Electrical Storm!

So tonight we had a really amazing electrical storm that lasted for about 2 hours. We don't see that too often in Northern California. I couldn't wait to get home from work and grab my camera! Now, I do not do night photography, so I was hoping that I would get really lucky. I think that I got some really cool pictures. I was really proud of what I was able to capture on my first attempt! Of course, the pictures do not do the storm justice. It was really amazing to be able to be out there and witness the sky light up like that!
